「ミステルズ取扱説明書（プロフィール）」
〜ミステルズのできるまで〜
21世紀初頭、大阪。数々のグループを渡り歩いていた名うて
のドラマー兼柿ピスト、豊島和也ことジェン３ダースは、北新
地のとあるラウンジにてハウスバンドをつとめるブルースバン
ドに加入した。そのバンドで一風変わった音を出すキーボード
男、小阪雅史と遭遇、意気投合した二人は、それとは別に面白
いことをやるため、週末ごとに、二人でスタジオに籠もり始め
た。互いの幅広い音楽性はもちろん、ビールが大好物なことも
二人の絆を固くするのに一役買った。
その昔、“ザ・スナック”というパブ・ロック・グループを
ジェン３と組んでいた浅岡耕一ことアサオカ０１は当時やって
いたバカ・ロック・バンド“ドーベルメン０１”の活動が滞り
始めていた。何か素敵な臭いを嗅ぎつけた彼は、すかさず二人
のスタジオを見学、ちゃっかりギターを弾いて楽しんだ結果、
そのまま居座ることにした。その後、缶ビールで乾杯した。
その後、約３ヶ月間、スタジオ練習、飲み会、しりとり、回
り将棋などを重ね親睦を深め合った３人はベースプレイヤーが
いないことに気がついた。そこで、ジェン３が昔から一目置い
ていた歌って踊れるベーシスト、満丸良太を呼び寄せることに
した。彼のプレイは面白いようにぴたりとはまり、現在のミス
テルズサウンドの原形が完成した。また彼は、飲酒はもちろん
、その食べっぷりも見事であった。
そんな訳で、４人はまず、阪急十三駅前のどんづまりストリ
ートにある立ち飲み屋にて、『バンドやろうぜ作戦会議』を開
始した。じっくりバンドの音を固めた後にセンセーショナルな
デビューライブを決行すること、そのためにバンド名を決めな
くてはならないこと、この４人ならではの音楽スタイルを確立
すること、これらを徹底的に検証することから始めた。結果、
初ライブを６ヶ月後に行うことが決定した。そして、「ジ・ア
ジフライ」「オレンジビンビール」「ザ・丸腰」「インテル入
ってるズ」「ジェンさんチーム」など数ある候補の中からバン
ド名を『ミステルズ（ＭＩＳＳＴＥＬＬＳ）』に命名した。そ
れから、ミステルズのサウンド・プロダクション・テーマとし
て“ビールがより美味しくなるようなグッドタイムスミュージ
ック”の追求を掲げ、Ｒ＆Ｂｅｅｒというキーワードを打ち出
した頃にはもう、空は、ほんのりと赤みがかっていた。
